In 2011 San Diego Restaurant Week will start to join forces with the Educational Committee of the San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association to raise funds for various educational programs throughout our county. These contributions will be facilitated through a San Diego County fund established within the State's CRA Educational Foundation.
Investment in this organization will change the future of thousands of youth and young adults in our community. Currently, over 20% of California students drop out of high school before the 12th grade. Our goal is to incentivize all kids to stay in school!

Examples of planned programs:

Supply aprons and coats for students in the SD Unified High School Culinary Programs.
Help construct and maintain organic gardens at local schools.
Provide funding for field trip transportation to visit various restaurant, hotel and casino kitchens, and organic gardens.
Provide scholarships for high school and undergraduate students furthering their education in the Hospitality Industry.
Sponsor students to participate in the San Diego Teen Iron Chef Competition and ProStart Competition.

With the help of the American Express we are able to launch this program during our 2011 September Restaurant Week and The San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association will donate 5 cents per transaction up to $5,000, to CRAEF (California Restaurant Association Education Foundation)each time any American Express (R) Card is used at any participating restaurant during San Diego Restaurant Week" A list of participating restaurants can be found at www.sandiegorestaurantweek.com.

CONTEST RULES:

The contest is open to United States citizens of age of majority living within the county of San Diego. Identification must be produced on request. Affiliates of SDRW; contest sponsor, advertising and promotional agencies and their respective affiliates and associates and such employees' immediate family members and persons with whom such employees are domiciled are excluded from this contest.

The prize is not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.

Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.

By claiming the prize, the winner authorizes the use, without additional compensation of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice/photograph and municipality of residence for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner and in any medium (including without limitation, radio broadcasts, newspapers and other publications and in television or film releases, slides, videotape, distribution over the internet and picture data storage) which Sandiegorestaurantweek.com may deem appropriate.

In accepting the prize, the winner, and any guest(s), acknowledges that SDRW may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize(s).

Winners and any guests at the age of majority must sign a release form as prepared and accepted by SDRW acknowledging their acceptance and understanding of the complete contest rules.

SDRW retains the rights, in its absolute and sole discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or approximate value in the event of the unavailability of any prize or component of the prize for any reason whatsoever.
