The Prado at Balboa Park is a National Landmark. Our talented chef teams are dedicated to creating inventive, seasonal dishes, while running an ambitious in-house program, including housemade charcuterie and sausage, cheese, artisanal breads and pastas made from scratch.

Meet Elisa and Michele! We grew up in Italy and stayed there into our adulthood. However, a few years ago, we decided to join the rest of our family here in San Diego. Our strong passion for food and our Italian roots, led us to the opportunity of opening Balsamico.
We’ve made sure to incorporate our native country into our menu developing and crafting authentic recipes that are true to our homeland. The region of Italy we are from, Emilia Romagna, is known for Balsamic Vinegar, Parmesan Cheese, prosciutto and other cold cuts, so we try to celebrate these regional delicacies in each dish we serve. We are a family owned restaurant through and through and we are very proud of that. We’re big on authenticity, but we’re also big on using fresh ingredients and making everything we can from scratch (the things we don’t, we import from Italy). For Restaurant Week, we will offer the full rodizio experience (18 unlimited cuts of meat, gourmet salad bar with 45+ items, and side dishes served tableside) + complimentary signature dessert for $82 per person ($92 original value) Our menu is inspired by the Gaucho culture and the authentic dining tradition of the Brazilian cowboy – grilled meats and fresh salads. With 18 different cuts of meats, ranging from beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and seafood, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, sweet beets, asparagus, imported cheeses, and cured meats are only some of almost 45 items that our gourmet salad bar offers.
